While writing compositions with stylistic techniques and six of IEW’s nine structural units, students will get to know the workers who keep a community running smoothly—from firefighters and police officers to road crews and rescue workers.

This Student Book contains assignments, instructions, engaging source texts, blank outlines, checklists, sample compositions, and clever vocabulary cards.

The purchaser receives a complimentary Teacher’s Manual e-book, (download code in book), which provides all the help necessary for the teacher and parent:  sample key word outlines, comprehension questions, and thorough instructions for activities.

Prerequisite: This course is designed to be used by an instructor/parent who has been through or is currently viewing the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style video course. If you are unfamiliar with this course, it is available in a DVD format or a Forever Streaming format.
